WIPO Model Law For Developing Countries on Inventions, Vol 1. Patents, 1979 WIPO Publication No. 840 (E), 1979. https://doi.org/10.34667/tind.28754, (link) This was an update to the 1965 BIRPI model law. Developed “under the guidance” of the WIPO Permanent Committee for Development Cooperation Related to Industrial Property (hereinafter “the Permanent Committee.” The work on the revision of the BIRPI model law began in 1974. A Working Group on the Model Law for Developing Countries on Inventions and Know-How (hereinafter “the Working Group”) was established and held eight sessions ( November 1974, May 1975. November 1975, June 1976, November/December 1976, June 1977,May 1978 and March 1979). The Working Group was composed of experts acting in their personal capacities, from a certain number of countries, and observers, representing a certain number of intergovernmental organizations and international non-governmental organizations. The experts were appointed by the International Bureau of WIPO after consultation with the interested Governments.

Model Provisions on the Protection of Computer Software. (link) Published in 1978, the model law was the result of a request from the UN and six years of work carried out by the International Bureau of WIPO with the assistance of experts, including meetings in 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977, of an “Advisory Group of Non-Governmental Experts on the Protection of Computer Programs.”

Draft Model Law on Copyright, 1990. Committee of Experts on Model Provisions for Legislation in the Field of Copyright. The draft model law is based upon a memorandum that the International Bureau of WIPO prepared (hereinafter referred to as “the preparatory document”) and is accompanied by the report on the discussions and conclusions of a “Committee of Experts on Model Provisions for Legislation in the Field of Copyright.” The preparatory document was published on March 30, 1990, under the title “Draft Model Law on Copyright” and it has the document number CE/MPC/III/2. The report was adopted by the Committee of Experts on July 13, 1990, and it has the document number CE/MPC/III/3.
