The six countries listed in the Special 301 list, every year, had much higher growth of incomes than USA

According to USTR’s 2014 report, six countries have been listed on the Special 301 list “every year since the report’s inception.” The six countries that have appeared on the Special 301 list every year were Chile, China, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Turkey.

The 1st edition of the Special 301 list was published in 1989. We looked at the changes in per capita income (World Bank estimates of GNI per capita, Atlas method, expressed in US dollars), from 1989 to 2012, to see how the six countries cited the most for IPR violations did, when compared to the United States. The answer is, they all did much much better than the USA.
